Day 1: Arrive in Murchison falls National Park via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary
Welcome to Uganda’s oldest and largest Protected Area situated within the north-western side of the country. You will first have breakfast at the Hotel in Kampala before getting briefed on the 4-day itinerary and journey you are about to embark on.
The 7-8 hours’ journey involves passing through the renowned Luwero Town (known as the home to the 1980’s Liberation war that ushered in the NRM Government) and Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. Talking of this stunning safari destination, you will break your journey at Nakasongola district where you will veer off at Nakitoma.
You will get the once in a lifetime opportunity of tracking the southern white Rhinos on foot. Having enjoyed this unforgettable and personal experience, settle for lunch at Kabalega Diners before continuing to the Park for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Get to know Murchison falls National Park: Game drives and boat cruise to the bottom of the falls
This day is the fantastic introduction to Murchison falls National Park! After an amazing breakfast at the Safari Lodge, you will join the 3-4 hours’ game drive of this magnificent Protected Area with your private safari driver.
This game drive will take you through the most remarkable wildlife-rich areas as you get driven from area to areas in the comfortable private safari vehicle.
The guide will offer explanation to the rich diversity of Murchison falls National Park which includes a myriad of wildlife species, jaw-dropping landscapes, variety of bird species and different ecosystems that range from savannah, woodlands and wetlands to Tropical rainforest.
Come across Cape buffaloes, African bush elephants, Defassa waterbucks, lions, Rothschild giraffes, bushbucks, Uganda Kobs, Jackson’s hartebeests, Topis, spotted hyenas, leopards, to mention but a few. After 3-4 hours of the game drive, you will retreat to the Lodge for a well-deserved Lunch and siesta as you wait for the next activity of the day.
Next, you will head to Paraa jetty to undertake the boat cruise until the bottom of the falls. Schools of Hippos and basks of Nile crocodiles as well as herds of elephants, Uganda Kobs and Cape buffaloes will be common during this boat cruise.
Get off the boat for the hike to the top of the falls to have a clearer views of the Nile River water as it forces through a narrow gorge before falling 45 meters below and creating a thundering sound.

Day 3: Know more of Murchison falls National Park through Budongo chimpanzee trekking & Cultural experience
After a hearty breakfast, your private safari driver will then pick you up from the Lodge for a half-day chimpanzee trekking experience. The tour begins at Kaniyo-Pabidi with a briefing on the guidelines to be followed while trekking and spending time in the presence of Great Apes.
The entire Budongo Chimpanzee trekking experience lasts 2-5 hours (including the one hour that will be provided for viewing and photography).
While searching for the Great Apes, keep an open eye and ear to other primates such as vervet monkeys, blue monkeys, olive baboons and the black and white colobus monkeys as well as an array of bird species. There will be a bonfire and cultural performances at the Lodge while you reminisce on the day’s adventures.
