Detailed Itinerary of the 5 Days Serengeti and Ngorongoro Safari

Day 1: Briefing and drive from Arusha Town or Airport to Serengeti National Park

You first receive a short briefing from your private safari driver, after which begin the journey to Tanzania’s most popular safari destination set within the Northern circuit.

Start the journey early while relishing magnificent views of the Great Rift Valley, escarpments and sweeping savannah plains along the way, arriving after 6-7 hours of scenic driving.

Your arrival will be welcomed by different animals-lions, elephants, buffaloes, Defassa waterbucks, Topis, warthogs, leopards, to mention but a few.

Day 2: All-day Wildlife viewing experience within Serengeti National Park

Kick-start the second day with a delicious cup of coffee/tea, freshly-squeezed juice and rusks before taking part in the sunrise game drive through Serengeti National Park.

Guided game drive through this Park usually begin very early in the morning to increase chances of spotting the nocturnal life at their most active time-especially cheetahs, side-stripped and black-backed jackals, genets, stripped and spotted hyenas, Caracals, African golden wolves, lions, leopards, East African wild cats and so much more.

The other grazers such as Black Rhinoceros, Defassa waterbucks, Defassa waterbucks, Topis, zebras, wildebeests, Kobs, warthogs and many others should also be expected during this game drive. The Park Ranger will also be delighted to introduce you to the different birds and ecosystems of this Park.

The morning and afternoon game drive is followed by a hot lunch at the Lodge/Camp then siesta. In the evening be sure to check-out the Masai community to learn about their unique cultures and traditions before returning for dinner and slumber.

On this day, arise and shine for the last game drive in Serengeti National Park. Before anything else, be treated to a mouth-watering breakfast at the Safari Lodge or Camp then set-out for the adventure-packed activity with lots of animals to look-out for.

During this drive, get the chance to scan for the gazelles, elephants, zebras, lions, buffaloes, leopards, Masai giraffes, Defassa waterbucks, cheetahs, Topis, Kongoni, wildebeests, and many others. You later exit Serengeti National Park and drive to the spectacular Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where you will arrive in the afternoon for lunch.

Your full-day wildlife encounter in this Protected Area leads to the Crater floor to see one of the highest populations of African game you have ever seen. With the help of the Park Ranger browse through the bush for the African bush elephants, Hippos, Cape buffaloes, Defassa waterbucks, Rhinos, to mention but a few.

Continue with this drive until sunset, but don’t forget to have a picnic lunch at one of the recommended picnic sites by the Park Ranger.
