Detailed Itinerary for the 5 Days Tanzania Wildlife Tour

Day 1: Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park, evening game drive

Following your delicious breakfast, you will depart for Lake Manyara National Park, along the Northern circuit, stopping along the way for a snack and photography. Possibly try the “Ugali” (the country’s National dish made of corn flour and water, served with Sukumawiki).

Lake Manyara National ParkGetting to the spectacular Lake Manyara National Park is an experience in itself and during this three-hour road trip, you will head 60 miles west-southwest of the Town and enter mid-morning.

Having transersed several small Towns and sweeping plains, you will reach the 325-square kilometer protected Area for the game drive, Onboard the 3-4 hours’ game drive, spot giant elands, the lions, cheetahs, Black Rhinoceros, Masai giraffes, Thompson’s and grant’s gazelles, Cape buffaloes, impalas and so much more. In the afternoon, also enjoy a walking safari around the Camp/Lodge.

Day 2: Wildlife spotting in Lake Manyara National Park and connect to Serengeti

Lake Manyara National Park is extraordinary because unlike most National Parks in Tanzania, it almost entirely rotates around the Water. However on this day, you will hop on the Open roof 4X4 safari vehicle and navigate the game tracks that run around this 325-square kilometer Protected Area.

Hold your Binocular and Camera ready because you will on the hunt for several wildlife species of the park that include the tree climbing lions, wildebeests, Black Rhinoceros, cheetahs, impalas, Cape buffaloes, the East African wild dogs, leopards, Thompson’s and grant’s gazelles, serval cats, Masai giraffes, giant elands, Defassa waterbucks, Hippos and many others.

Day 3: The unbeaten game spotting experience in Serengeti National Park

After a lovely breakfast at your Safari Lodge or Camp, you will be transferred a short distance into the heart of Serengeti National Park, the Crown jewel of Tanzania’s safari adventures.

There is more to Serengeti National Park than its sweeping panoramas and during the all-day guided game drive, you will get the chance to become up-close to the iconic animals of the region such as giant elands, wildebeests, warthogs, Masai giraffes, lions, Defassa waterbucks, lions, Rhinoceros, leopards, wild dogs, cheetahs, serval cats, black-backed jackals, genets, Topis, impalas, bushbucks, duikers, warthogs, olive baboons, to mention but a few.

Also, more than 500 bird species exist in this Park, including the Somalia Ostriches and secretary birds (the National Bird of Tanzania).

In the afternoon, have picnic lunch at one of the picnic sites and continue to spend the rest of the day game viewing with more and more sights as well as sounds of animals to look-out for as well as visit to the Masai warriors.

Its road trip time! First be treated to a sumptuous breakfast and undertake the road trip to Ngorongoro Conservation Area past the Olduvai Gorge Museum, countryside and mountain ranges.

The Gorge is where the fossil remains, excavated by Dr. Louis and Mary Leakey are found and these trace to the history of humanity.

As the Valleys and dry woodlands slowly give way to the sweeping plains, Calderas and sights of Lake Magadi, you will arrive at Ngorongoro Conservation Area, the Cradle of mankind where you will be checked into your Safari Lodge/Camp.

After lunch, the remainder of the day is spent in a fun-filled game drive towards the Crater floor. You will be spoilt for choice as numerous Elephants, Cape buffaloes, wildebeests, giant elands, lions, cheetahs, Olive baboons, gazelles, Defassa waterbucks, impalas, and many others cross right in front of the safari vehicle.

The day will close with a finger-licking and hot meal, star-filled night and most memorable night at the reserved Lodge.
